Together-ish

2020 has been a whirlwind, and it is a year that no one will forget. Over the last several months, we have transitioned into the new normal of working from home. However, it wasn’t so easy at first, and at times it could feel lonely.

At Sain, we thrive on company gatherings and fellowship with our coworkers, but given the times, we must adjust to this new change of pace. Although birthday celebrations and annual events like attending a Birmingham Barons game or spending an afternoon at Lake George have come to a pause, Sain’s company culture has remained strong through Zoom, Spotify, and online activities implemented by Sain and our FunTime Committee.

Zoom Meetings

Zoom meetings have become the norm for everyone’s day-to-day schedule. Whether you are participating in a meeting, having a check-in call with your coworker, or catching up with a client, Zoom has become more than just a video conferencing tool. In fact, our FunTime Committee even hosted a virtual trivia night where participants answered quarantine and COVID-19 themed questions.

Creating Good Vibes with a Spotify Playlist

Music brings people together and what better way to do that than creating a Spotify playlist. We polled our team for song suggestions and learned that we have a diverse taste in music. Our playlist includes artists like Harry Styles, Metallica, Old Crow Medicine Show, Queen, and many more! Check out our playlist here.

Keeping Sain’s Competitive Spirit Alive through April’s Activity Challenge

Getting up and being active is one way to overcome an afternoon slump. Sain sponsored the April Activity Challenge to keep employees connected while working remotely. In this challenge, twenty participants selected how many minutes of cardio they wanted to achieve every day and were divided into teams. For each day they met their activity goal, they earned points for their team. Not only was it great spending more time going for a walk or trying out a new fitness routine, but it was fun to connect with coworkers and support one another through exercise.

Although our work environment has changed tremendously, our team is committed to doing everything we can to keep our spirits and productivity high. Sain has always been proud of its culture and let me reassure you that no virus will weaken our connection to one another or put us in a bad headspace.
