Culture
Our firm has made a concerted effort to create a community where everyone is included. Sain’s leadership encourages an open-door policy with all their employees and places an emphasis on building relationships.
Creating this positive work environment also means fostering open communication, which is why we started an annual strategic planning retreat. Every October, Sain sends principals and several employees to an off-site location to create the company’s annual goals. The firm intentionally seeks input from all employees to foster innovation and open communication.
Most of all, we make time to celebrate with each other. We celebrate important events like birthdays, wedding showers, baby showers, and holiday events. These events are great ways to bring us together throughout the year.

Values
Trustworthiness has been important from the beginning of Sain’s history, and it is a big part of having high integrity, which is one of our core values. Being trustworthy and having integrity are not characteristics that always get a lot of praise or recognition, but these qualities come into play in everything we do each day.
Around our office, you can often hear a simple question: “What’s the right thing to do?” Any time we have a challenging situation, the answer to that question is what guides us. We always strive to do the right thing regarding our employees, clients, customers, and sub-consultants. We want everyone to know they can trust us to do the right thing.
Below is our list of what defines good character.
- High Personal Integrity
- Hard Working, Reliable, and Persistent
- Loyal
- Humble
- Self-Aware and Self-Regulated
-
Community Outreach
We are motivated by the theory that people have three phases in life: “Learn, Earn, and Return.” We take pride in “returning” by giving back to the local community. Our employees participate in various fundraising campaigns and seek volunteer opportunities with organizations who serve the community.
Below are a few organizations we have supported throughout the years:
- Designs for Hope
- Fellowship of Christian Athletes
- Meads Miracles
- Operation Christmas Child
- Trent Holt 5K
- United Way of Central Alabama
- Womens Business Leaders

Continuous Skills Development
We want to support our employees, so we invest in their career growth. During the year, employees participate in career discussions with their managers, planning out what they want to accomplish for the year. Sain also offers monthly lunch and learns for in-house training on topics like due diligence, communication, business development, and innovative design and construction techniques. We also send our employees to conferences for additional development.
