SEEDS II: Investing in Alabama’s Growth

Governor Kay Ivey recently announced $23.5 million in SEEDS grants to support economic development across Alabama. These grants, part of the Site Evaluation and Economic Development Strategy (SEEDS) Program, provide funding to help communities prepare industrial sites for future business investment. By improving infrastructure, conducting site evaluations, and enhancing site readiness, the program ensures that communities are well-positioned to attract businesses looking to expand in Alabama.

We were proud to play a role in this latest round of funding. We worked closely with Tallassee, Chambers County, and Jasper to develop strong site assessment grant applications that highlighted the potential of their industrial sites. Thanks to these efforts, these communities will now receive critical funding to enhance their economic competitiveness and bring in future job-creating opportunities.

We also supported applications for Jefferson County and the City of Trussville. They pursued site development grants for construction-related activities. While those applications were not selected in this round, we remain committed to helping these communities advance their industrial site goals.

SEEDS II Projects We Supported:
  • Tallassee – Preparing industrial land for new opportunities by improving site readiness and increasing marketability.
  • Chambers County – Enhancing site readiness to attract potential industries and drive long-term economic expansion.
  • Jasper – Investing in site development to create a stronger foundation for future business investments.

The site assessment grants for Tallassee, Chambers County, and Jasper will provide funding for survey, geotechnical, and environmental studies as well as master planning.

Why SEEDS Matters

Site development is a crucial piece of economic growth. When industrial sites are properly evaluated and enhanced, they become prime locations for businesses looking to expand or relocate. This means more jobs, stronger local economies, and a brighter future for Alabama communities.

We are honored to contribute to projects that fuel economic progress and look forward to seeing the transformative impact these SEEDS II grants will have. Congratulations to Tallassee, Chambers County, and Jasper on this exciting milestone!
