The Christmas season is a time to pause, reflect, and embrace the hope and joy of this special time of year. Despite the challenges we may see in today’s world, we may wonder and ask ourselves, where is the Peace On Earth? The message of Christmas reminds us of the greater promise of peace, love, and light in the birth of a savior who would be known as, Emmanuel, by the Virgin Mary.
It’s important to recognize that earthly peace may not always be promised. One of the most profound truths comes from the Book of John. John 16:33 reminds us that while we will face challenges in this life, we can take heart knowing that Jesus has already overcome them.
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. – John 16:33
This verse is both a challenge and a promise. It reminds us that life will bring difficulties, but we are not alone. True peace comes not from the absence of trouble but from a relationship with God and his son, who offer hope by transcending all circumstances.
This promise of peace was foretold centuries earlier by the prophet Isaiah, who described the coming of Christ:
For unto us, a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. — Isaiah 9:6
At Christmas, we celebrate this greatest gift—the son of God—who came to bring light, hope, and peace to a weary world. His presence in our lives brings us the comfort and assurance we need, no matter the challenges we may face. As scripture tells us in the book of Phillippians, when life feels chaotic, and our minds are filled with uncertainty, worry, or fear, this peace steps in as a divine assurance. It goes beyond what we can comprehend—it doesn’t always make sense to feel calm in the face of trouble, yet God’s peace is steadfast. It shields our hearts from despair and our minds from spiraling thoughts. Peace is a gift, not something we can earn. It is grounded in trust and reminds us that God is in control, even when life feels out of control.
It’s the stillness in the storm, the calm when answers seem unclear, and the strength that allows us to keep moving forward. In Jesus, our hearts and minds will find true rest, anchored in His love and promises.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:7
As we reflect on the meaning of this season, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation to those who make what we do possible: our clients and employees. To our clients, I am so grateful that you have placed your trust in Sain Associates. Your support has allowed us to grow, serve and make a difference in the many communities in our footprint. This Christmas, may you and your loved ones find peace, joy, and hope. In a world that can feel uncertain, may the words of Luke 2:14 remind us of God’s promise:
Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men.
May the presence of Christ fill your hearts and homes with comfort and joy.
From our family to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
