March is International Women’s Month—a time to recognize the accomplishments, leadership, and impact of women across every industry. At Sain Associates, we are proud to celebrate the women who help shape our company, our projects, and our future.
Among those leaders are three of our shareholders: Becky White, PTP; Alicia Bailey, P.E.; and Erin Curry, P.E., RSP. Each has built a remarkable career at Sain and continues to play an important role in advancing our mission of delivering high-quality engineering, planning, and surveying services to our clients.
Their journeys also reflect something deeper about our firm: Sain is a place where talented professionals can grow, lead, and build long-term careers.
Becky White, PTP – Leading with Vision
As Chief Operating Officer and Senior Principal, Becky White is an orchestrator of efficiency and excellence within Sain. She oversees a wide range of responsibilities, from strategic planning and operational leadership to ensuring that the company’s goals and objectives are not only met but exceeded.
Becky’s leadership is defined by her ability to wear many hats, adapt to new challenges, and guide teams toward success. She has also played an instrumental role in shaping the culture that makes Sain such a great place to work today.
“One of the things I’m most proud of at Sain is our culture. We’ve built an environment where people support each other, collaborate, and take pride in the work we do for our clients and communities.”

In addition to her leadership at Sain, Becky has made a lasting impact on transportation planning in Alabama. She helped create the Advanced Planning, Programming, and Local Engineering (APPLE) and Safety APPLE programs for the Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham. These programs help local agencies develop and evaluate transportation improvement projects within the Birmingham Metropolitan Planning Organization and have since become a model for other agencies across the state.
Alicia Bailey, P.E. – Growing Through Opportunity
Alicia Bailey’s career at Sain is a great example of how dedication and continuous learning can lead to leadership.
Alicia joined Sain Associates in 2001 as an entry-level engineer. Through hard work and a commitment to learning, she quickly developed expertise in roadway design and became an integral part of the firm’s Infrastructure team. Over the years, her experience expanded to include roadway and drainage design, construction administration, and coordination with the Alabama Department of Transportation and municipalities across the region.
Today, Alicia serves as Chief of Design Services and Senior Principal, helping guide major projects and mentor the next generation of engineers.
“Engineering is incredibly rewarding because the work we do improves communities and people’s daily lives. At Sain, I’ve had the opportunity to grow my career while working alongside people who genuinely support each other’s success.”

Alicia is also passionate about inspiring future engineers. She leads Sain’s involvement in Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day, encouraging young women to explore careers in engineering and STEM fields.
Erin Curry, P.E., RSP – Serving Communities Through Engineering
Erin Curry has spent almost 25 years working in transportation engineering, specializing in roadway safety and planning. As Assistant Director of Road Safety & Planning and an Associate Shareholder, she helps communities identify and implement solutions that improve safety and mobility.
Erin’s work includes road safety audits, planning studies, and developing strategies that reduce crashes and make roadways safer for everyone.
Her dedication to serving others extends beyond her engineering work. Erin was recently recognized with the ACEC Tennessee Community Service Award, honoring her outstanding commitment to public service and her community.
“What I appreciate most about Sain is the opportunity to make a meaningful impact—both through the projects we deliver and the communities we serve. It’s rewarding to work alongside people who share that same commitment.”
Erin Curry
Erin’s leadership reflects the strong connection between engineering, public service, and community impact. Erin was elected Commissioner of District 1 for Giles County in 2018, and since then, she has worked on several projects that have focused on making communities prosper.
A Culture Where Women Can Thrive
Across our company, women play an important role in shaping projects, mentoring team members, and strengthening relationships with clients and communities.
Sain is committed to creating an environment where employees can thrive through mentorship, professional development, and opportunities for leadership. The careers of Becky, Alicia, and Erin demonstrate what’s possible when talent, opportunity, and support come together.
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate International Women’s Month, we are grateful for the leadership and dedication of Becky, Alicia, Erin, and the many other women who contribute to Sain’s success every day.
Their stories demonstrate how careers can evolve through mentorship, collaboration, and a shared commitment to serving our clients and communities—and they help ensure that Sain continues to be a great place to work and grow for everyone.
