This Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program-II (ATRIP-II) project streamlined access drives for Sonic and an Urgent Care facility by merging them into a single driveway. It also aligned the location with the street across SR-5 (previously Highway 78), and median modifications were made to reduce conflict points. This project not only improves traffic flow, but it also enhances safety for drivers and pedestrians. Overall, this project is a valuable asset to the community and contributes toward a more efficient and safer road network.
Sain Associates is in the process of completing an access management project for a 7.5 mile segment of AL-5/AL-59/AL-118 in Jasper, Alabama. The recommendations from the project will include driveway and median closures and consolidations, turn lane construction, roadway realignments, and frontage road construction. The purpose of the project is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public, maintain the highway rights-of-way, and to preserve the functional level of the roadway while meeting the needs of the motoring public.
