Sain Associates served as the transportation consultant on a project team with Urban Collage in 2008 to prepare a comprehensive plan for the City of Prattville. Sain’s scope of work included traffic data collection, traffic forecasting, development of short- and long-term transportation projects, and participation in stakeholder and public involvement sessions. A key component of the plan was developing a city-wide system of pedestrian and bicycle amenities using off-system trails and on-street accommodations. The trail network was situated to connect existing destinations with proposed future open spaces and parks and to use natural areas along creek banks and wetlands. The comprehensive plan has provided guidance to assist the City of Prattville with decision-making and project prioritization as they have sought to enhance and support a sustainable and diverse community.
In 2020, Sain partnered with KPS Group to update the transportation component of the previous comprehensive plan to fit the City’s needs better. A unique aspect of this update involved a completed intersection analysis, including a roundabout analysis using Synchro and a downtown parking study using drone video and photos.
