Sain Associates provided comprehensive right-of-way and topographic surveying services for the Old Big Cove Road corridor in Madison County, Alabama. The Phase I survey limits extended from the intersection of Old Big Cove Road and Claudia Drive to the intersection of Sutton Road, supporting future roadway design and improvement efforts.
Services included project control establishment based on the Alabama East State Plane Coordinate System, right-of-way and property research, and detailed topographic data collection throughout the project corridor. Survey crews located visible drainage features, utilities, roadway improvements, structures, fencing, landscaping, and significant trees to develop an accurate representation of existing conditions. Contours were developed at one-foot intervals to support design activities.
Prior to beginning work, Sain developed and implemented a property owner notification process to inform affected landowners of upcoming field work and minimize disruptions. Additional services included right-of-way staking for acquired parcels to support project development and construction planning.
Sain Associates is currently providing right-of-way and topographic surveying services for Phase II of the project. The corridor for Phase II starts at the intersection of Old Big Cove Road and Taylor Road and extends along Old Big Cove to the intersection of Claudia Drive.
