Sain Associates provided professional traffic engineering services for a proposed Love’s Travel Stop development in White House, Tennessee. The project included preparation of a Traffic Impact Analysis for the proposed site located at the intersection of SR-76 and I-65, with the study area encompassing seven nearby intersections along the corridor.
The study included site visits, traffic volume counts, and evaluation of existing roadway conditions and traffic operations. Sain estimated trip generation using traffic data from comparable travel stop facilities, analyzed projected traffic conditions and turn-lane warrants, and developed recommendations for improvements needed to support acceptable traffic operations. Findings and recommendations were documented in a report submitted to the City of White House and TDOT for review and approval. Our efforts were closely coordinated with recommendations from an adjacent TDOT Road Safety Audit project on SR-76 at I-65.
Sain Associates also prepared the design plans for a new traffic signal at the Love’s Travel Stop access as well as modifications to the existing traffic signals at the I-65/SR-76 interchange.
