Sain Associates provided engineering and surveying services for the development of new recreational ball fields in Autauga County, Alabama. The project includes the planning and design of two ball fields, along with supporting infrastructure such as parking, lighting, and space allocation for a future restroom and concession facility. The project reflects a collaborative effort among ADECA, Governor Kay Ivey, Senator Clyde Chambliss, Representative Van Smith, CAEC, CARPDC, Autauga County, and local community stakeholders, transforming a vision more than 15 years in the making into a lasting investment in the community’s future.
The scope of work consisted of preparing a partial topographic survey and developing construction plans for the two ball fields in accordance with the proposed layout plan. While the project anticipated a future restroom building, potentially incorporating concessions and a second-level press box, the design of this structure was not included in Sain’s current scope. Specific features and accommodations for the building were coordinated with the County and refined as the site design progressed.
Sain previously performed a topographic survey of the site in 2012 for the Autauga Recreation Board. Based on coordination with the Autauga County Commission, site conditions were believed to have remained largely unchanged. As a result, the project leveraged the existing survey data where feasible.To support this effort, Sain verified the presence and integrity of existing survey control in the field.
