Anniston, AL
CLIENT: City of Anniston
FUNDING: Innovate Alabama Trail Connectivity Grant

Sain Associates is currently providing surveying and civil engineering design services for a new ADA-compliant walking trail at the Anniston Natural History Museum in Anniston, Alabama. The City of Anniston was recently awarded an Innovate Alabama Trail Connectivity Grant to support the project, building on earlier planning efforts by Sain that included development of a conceptual layout and preliminary cost estimate.
The project will create a safe and accessible pedestrian connection between the Berman Museum and the Longleaf Event Center parking area. It began with a comprehensive topographic survey to document existing site conditions, including terrain, drainage features, utilities, and visible improvements. This data is being used to support the development of construction documents tailored to the site’s natural and built environment.
Sain’s design services include preparation of construction plans such as layout, grading and drainage, erosion control, and site details necessary for bidding and construction. The design emphasizes accessibility, constructability, and compliance with applicable state and local requirements.
In addition to design, Sain is supporting the City of Anniston through the bidding process by preparing contract documents, assisting with advertisement and procurement, and responding to contractor inquiries. During construction, the team will provide coordination services including site visits, review of shop drawings and RFIs, and general engineering support to help facilitate successful project delivery.
This project reflects Sain Associates’ commitment to enhancing community spaces through thoughtful planning and design, improving connectivity and accessibility for residents and visitors alike.
