At Sain, safety has always been more than just a priority. It is an important part of how we work and a responsibility shared across the company. Whether our employees are in the field, on a construction site, traveling to a project, or working in the office, maintaining a safe workplace takes awareness, preparation, and communication.
Over the past several years, I have had the opportunity to help lead our safety efforts. As Sain continues to grow and strengthen our approach to safety, I’m excited for Mike Bugbee to take the lead in coordinating these efforts and helping keep safety at the forefront across the company.
Meet Mike Bugbee, P.E.
Mike brings 14 years of construction engineering and inspection experience, having managed and supported a wide range of projects. His background includes bridge construction/rehabilitation, pedestrian safety improvements involving Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) systems and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance, as well as other critical infrastructure initiatives that help keep communities safe. His experience working alongside contractors, inspectors, engineers, and project partners in active construction environments also gives him firsthand knowledge of the importance of safe work practices.
Beyond his technical expertise, Mike served our country as an E5 Infantry Sergeant in the Connecticut Army National Guard. During his deployment to Afghanistan from 2006 to 2007 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, he developed the discipline, accountability, and leadership skills that continue to guide his approach today. Mike will also serve on the ABC Alabama Safety Committee, where he will work alongside industry professionals from across the state to share best practices, tackle emerging safety challenges, and help raise safety standards throughout the construction industry. His involvement with the committee will also give Sain an opportunity to learn from others in the industry and bring new ideas and best practices back to our employees.

Looking Ahead
As Mike steps into this role, I’m confident his field experience, leadership background, and involvement with ABC Alabama will bring a valuable perspective to our Safety program.
I look forward to supporting Mike during the transition and seeing how he continues to build on the work we have done. Safety takes continued attention from all of us, and having someone dedicated to helping guide those efforts is an important part of protecting our employees, project partners, clients, and communities.
Mike, thank you for taking the lead and helping us continue to make safety an important part of how we work at Sain.
