This past May, I celebrated my fourth “Sainiversary” in working a full-time position at Sain Associates. My Sain journey began with an internship in 2016 where I worked with our Infrastructure, Site, and Traffic teams. Little did I know, I would become a member of the Site team just one short year later.
In the last four years, my job has continued to evolve as I’ve grown my technical skills. When I started at Sain, I worked on project-related research, performed due diligence, drafted design plans, and conducted storm and hydraulic analyses. Then, I began to design sites, analyzed storm drainage systems, and coordinated with members of the project team.
I also participated more in conceptual design, which has been one of my favorite aspects of my job, where some of our most creative ideas come through. Now that I am about to obtain my P.E. license, I work more independently on projects, designing all the civil elements of a site. What I love about Sain is that there is room to grow professionally.
One of the many blessings from working at Sain has been the value put in technical training and “soft skill” courses, evidenced by our training sessions. A few of my favorite training classes have included our Leadership Class and a lunch and learn about underground detention systems. Our onsite training has allowed me to strengthen my skillset.
Another reason that I love working at Sain is that we like to have fun as a team. It’s not uncommon for Sain’s FunTime Committee to throw impromptu social gatherings or scheduled events like birthday celebrations or wedding showers. I have served as a FunTime Committee member for several years and enjoy planning events with fellow committee members. Having these events was especially important while working from home during the pandemic, and I look forward to having more in-person opportunities now that we are back in the office.
Being part of the Sain family has been so valuable for both my personal and professional life. Sain is currently seeking applicants for several open positions, including a position on my team! If you think Sain sounds like the right match for you, I encourage you to contact resumes@sain.com.
