Sain Gives Back – Rise Against Hunger

There is no doubt that hunger and poverty plague all parts of the world. Rise Against Hunger was founded in 1998 with the vision to end hunger by providing food and aid to the world’s most vulnerable. Their work has expanded beyond meal packaging and distribution – the organization focuses on responding to natural and human-made crises and empowering communities by promoting improved agricultural methods, business skills, and market access.

Over the past several years, Sain has volunteered with Rise Against Hunger to help pack and send meals to children in food-insecure areas. We gather with volunteers from local schools, churches, and other businesses to package rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables, and vitamins into bags, which are then distributed to impoverished countries around the world.  Sain’s team members enjoy volunteering each year as it is an easy way to give back during their lunch break as well as an opportunity to spend time with coworkers outside of the office. We love participating in meal packaging events because it not only brings the community together, but it also makes a positive difference in the lives of hungry people.

Rise Against Hunger’s goal is to end world hunger by 2030, a milestone supported by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2. By joining Rise Against Hunger’s mission to help people in need, you can make a change – even if it is just one meal at a time.
