Assistant Project Surveyor (LSIT)

Huntsville, AL | Full-time | Land Surveying | 1 Position Available

Sain Associates has one opening in Huntsville, AL for an Assistant Project Surveyor to prepare maps with topographic features and boundary lines as well as collect data in the field. In this position, you will also work closely with the Professional Land Surveyor (PLS). This role is ideal for someone who wants to gain field experience as well as become a CAD expert.  

On a typical day, you might assist the party chief with a construction staking project, research legal descriptions, and prepare a map for the PLS to review.

Must Haves

  • Experience with Robotic Total Stations/GPS/Electronic Data Collectors
  • Familiarity with State Plane Coordinate System and Zones
  • Experience researching deeds and plats
  • Understanding of platting process for different Municipalities
  • CAD experience
  • Desire to grow professionally and obtain your PLS license
  • Candidates must be able to lift 60 lbs., move through rough terrain, and pass a drug test to work in this safety sensitive job
  • Candidates must have a valid driver’s license
  • Reliable transportation to and from work

Education & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in Land Surveying, including Topographic, Right-of-Way, and Boundary Surveys
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics or related field
