Matt Hogan, Project Engineer in our Site Engineering Department, will celebrate 20 years with Sain  Associates this month!

As a Project Engineer, Matt designs site plans. He enjoys the stress-free environment and flexible work schedule at Sain, as well as the beautiful view from his office window! His favorite project at Sain thus far has been the Fort Benning Martin Army Community Hospital.

In an interview, we got to know Matt a little better….




Q: Tell us a little about yourself.

A: I am 46 years old and enjoy hunting and fishing.  I am a Christian Conservative who supports our current president.

Q:  Tell us a little bit about your family.

A: I have a wife and two children.  My son is 16 and attends Hoover High School and my daughter is 18 and is a freshman at Auburn University.

Q:  Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us?

A: I like some Elton John songs.


Q: What words best describe you?

A: Easy-going, dry humor.

Q: What are your top 3 life highlights?

A: Graduating college, getting married, and the birth of both of my children.

Q:  What are your hopes for our industry?

A: To become less regulated by government.

Q: What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?

A: I enjoy solving drainage problems.

Q: What book did you read last?

A: Heaven is for Real


Q: What did you want to be when growing up?

A: An engineer!

Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?

A: Working on our family farm.

Q: What is your favorite sport? Team?

A: Football. Roll Tide!

Q: What is your hidden talent?

A: I can build an awesome shooting house for deer hunting.

I learned how to rebuild a Chevy small block engine when I was 19 and did it twice.  As far as I know, both engines are still running today.
