Eric Wood is our featured associate this month. Being from Birmingham, Eric knew about Sain’s respected reputation in the industry and was thrilled to begin his position as CE&I Inspector/Design Engineer on the Infrastructure team just a few weeks ago. Welcome to the team, Eric!

In a Q & A session, we learned a little more about Eric…

 

Q: Tell us a little about yourself.

A: I grew up in Vestavia Hills and graduated from The University of Alabama in 2013 with a degree in Civil Engineering. I worked for Engineering Design Technologies prior to my move to Sain.

Q: Tell us a little bit about your family.

A: I am the oldest of 5 children. I have 3 younger brothers and a baby sister that is 16 years old.

Q: Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us?

A: I referee men’s college basketball as well as high school basketball.

Q: What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?

A: What I enjoy about my role is being able to ensure quality work and seeing the results of a successful project that help better the community I grew up in.

 

Q: What did you want to be when growing up?

A: When I was 6 years old I wanted to be Zorro, but later I decided a Civil Engineer might be a better choice.

 

Q:  What do you like to do in your spare time?

A : In my spare time I enjoy sports, grilling out, and I am always up for watching a good documentary.

 

Q:  What is your favorite sport? Team?

A: I enjoy basketball and football. My parents raised me to be a Tennessee Volunteer fan, but I enjoyed three national championships while in school at The University of Alabama.
