Joe Meads, P.E.

Joe has over 38 years of experience as a civil engineer. In addition to leading Sain’s business development efforts, he also serves as Principal-in-Charge of many of Sain’s municipal, industrial, and government projects. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Alabama, Arkansas, and Mississippi.  

Joe obtained a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. Joe is a Past President of the Alabama Section American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and two-time Past President of Birmingham Branch ASCE. He currently serves as State Advocacy Captain for ASCE in Alabama. 

Joe is a Past Chair of the Board of Directors for the Greater Shelby Chamber and the Irondale Chamber of Commerce, Board Member and Executive Committee Member of the North Central Alabama Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Board Member of Alabama Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors. He is an active Deacon and Sunday School leader at Hope Community Church in Birmingham. 

 

Nickname: “Smokin Joe” for my ability to shoot 3 pointers in basketball.
