About a year ago, I came to Sain Associates to help launch the GIS department of the company. Since that time we’ve gained clients and grown our services. Today, we are able to offer on-call GIS services, which provide multiple benefits.
For companies who have their own GIS software, a technical support contract often comes along with it for a considerable price each year. Those companies pay that amount whether they actually need and use it or not.
With our on-call service, we offer an hourly rate based service for support. Clients are able to set an amount they don’t want to go over, whether that’s $2,000, $5,000 or more. We identify a base set of services they’re interested in, and they only pay for what they use as we go along. There’s no committing to a large sum of money up front. As things come up that need to be done or issues arise, clients just give our GIS department a call.
This cuts down on clients having to hire their own personnel and purchase software. Clients have access to the latest software technology through our services, and I produce maps and other products as they need them. With more than 20 years in the industry, my experience also comes in handy.
The City of Gardendale provides a great example. Our contract with them was initially to get their zoning maps up to date. That part of the project is complete, but every couple of months as they have zoning map updates, they send those to us so we can update the maps using our on-call services.
Through this contracting method, Sain can provide a broad suite of services to clients ranging from simple phone technical support to software upgrades, system planning, or data conversion services.
In the nutshell, the Sain GIS On-Call Services option gives clients 100% access to the latest GIS technology and over 20 years of GIS experience with 0% liability risk or large outlays of funds. This is the right choice for any client, of any size, sector or type, to reap the benefits of GIS technology.
