We are excited to announce the acquisition of Vision Engineering & Planning, a transportation planning and engineering DBE firm with offices in Columbia, MD and Atlanta, GA.
“Southern Business and Development” names Sain Associates one of the Top 3 Architecture/Engineering Firms in Alabama for economic development. This news is extremely exciting because Sain Associates is the only non-architectural civil engineering firm on the list.
Members of the Southern Economic Development Roundtable (SEDR) were polled to come up with the best of 30 economic development categories in each Southern state. SEDR is an invitation-only group of economic developers, educators, economists, site consultants and CEOs who meet once a year in January in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. It is an opportunity for 50 of the South’s best economic development minds to discuss issues relative to economic development in the American South. While each state has 30 categories, some of those categories are state-specific.
The top three vote recipients for each category are recognized and listed in alphabetical order. It’s an honor to be included in the top 3—the best engineering/architecture firms in the state of Alabama. I think that we were selected because of our level of commitment to economic development across the state. We have a wide range of relationships throughout the industry—cities, counties, industrial development boards, regional economic development groups and contractors. This is not the first time we’ve made this list. In fact, every time they have done these surveys we’ve been listed in the top 3.
I believe what separates our firm from others is the diversity of the services that we are able to provide; GIS services, land surveying, traffic/transportation engineering and site/civil engineering just to name a few. For the size of our firm, we have a wide range of capabilities, and our ability to include all those components under one roof is a positive for our clients.
Economic development is very important to the Sain family. It’s a very rewarding part of our engineering practice. We feel that we can make a difference in the communities where we work. Through our experience as engineers we are able to help our clients with their industrial prospects, and that leads to jobs and capital investments, and that leads to economic development in the local community. We find that particular work very satisfying. It’s something we really enjoy doing and we take a lot of pride in the success that we’ve achieved with our clients in this particular market. We are currently working on a number of industrial economic development projects in Alabama and Tennessee.
Receiving this award is an honor and it recognizes the work that all of our staff has done in this market area. It’s a true blessing for our company to be recognized.
