Fort McClellan

Sain used GPS and conventional survey to establish CERFA parcels at Fort McClellan. Survey work also included topographic and boundary survey. Sain was awarded the 2004 “Grand Award” of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), of Alabama For their work on the Fort McClellan survey project. The Grand Award is the highest honor of ACEC’s annual Engineering Excellence Awards Competition. The project was the first professional survey to be performed on the property in the modern day post-war era. The crews from Sain Associates participated in daily on-site safety meetings because of the possible presence of explosive devices and materials on the property. They were also escorted by members of the Unexploded Ordinance (UXO) as an additional safety precaution.
