Mark Randall, a project engineer in our Pulaski, [...]
When we first introduced you to our Senior ITS Designer, Lance Lenoir, in early 2013, we knew he would be a great addition to our traffic team, and we quickly found out that he is a great photographer. He captured some beautiful images of our new office space soon after we moved in. But we soon discovered that Lance is a man of many other talents.
His unique hobbies go all the way back to high school and college when he was a state champion high jumper. When he wasn’t participating in track and field events, Lance spent time creating oil paintings and charcoal and pencil drawings. This art background led him into photography.
His talents with the camera resulted in him doing head shots and live photo shoots for the Miss Alabama, Miss USA and Miss America pageants. He also helped photograph weddings on the weekends, taking this hobby to a second career.
While he is experienced with these more refined activities, Lance is just as comfortable with his more rugged hobbies that take him outdoors. He loves riding his Harley Davidson, and he has been to South Dakota for pheasant hunting and Arkansas for duck hunting. His family owns a 600 acre farm in Jemison, Alabama where he is able to deer hunt and spend time doing a variety of other outdoor activities.
Lance and the farm are somewhat famous and often mentioned on the Rick and Bubba Show. After doing a pencil drawing of Rick and Bubba several years ago that they loved, Lance was asked to be on the show and became friends with the cast. Since then, several people from the show often hunt on the farm and talk about their experiences on the radio broadcast. Lance and other members of his family have been on the show a few times. While he’s never done any singing on the radio, Lance was the lead singer in a heavy metal band from 1991-1996.
All of these hobbies once took up most of his free time, but after getting married last year, Lance spends most of his time with his wife and two teenage daughters. Instead of singing in the heavy metal band, he sings in the church choir and serenades his family, like on a recent trip to Disney World when he impressed them by doing karaoke to AC/DC, Georgia Satellites and Journey songs.
He’s had other opportunities to share his hobbies as well. The family loves riding on his motorcycle, and even though neither of his daughters had ever hunted before Lance became their dad, they are both outdoor enthusiasts now. And while he may not be taking pictures of beauty queens anymore, photography skills are great to have for documenting the special moments of everyday life with a beautiful wife and two daughters.
